Surat Al-Baqarah is the surah of miracles, and Surat of the wonders.
How many poor people got rich because of reciting surah “Al-Baqarah” and how many people who are sick who “Allah” has healed them because they recited surah “Al-Baqarah”. And how many sad people who Allah turns them to be happy.
Surat “Al-Baqarah” has many miracles and real stories in our lives cannot be mentioned in this short article.
Surat “Al-Baqarah” it is (286) verses, it was the first Surah that revealed in Madina so, it is called “Madaniah”. And of course, it contains the verse of “Al-koursy”. It was revealed at different times and its name Surat “Albaqarah” because of the story of the cow in which it was killed, as a man of the children of Israel was killed in the time of Moses Peace be upon him and “Allah” ordered them to slaughter a cow to beat him with some parts of it. To know who killed him, they asked many questions to Moses about the descriptions of that cow, which “Allah” ordered them to slaughter in order to do, but they did in the end and knew the killer. And it contains also the longest verse in the Quran {the verse of debt} NO. (282)
Surat al-Baqarah has great virtues, it was related in the Sayings of the prophet
He said that the devil is fleeing from the house where Surat Al-Baqarah is being recited. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Read Surat Al-Baqarah and Al-Imran as they come on the Day of Resurrection as if they were great clouds defending of who was recite Them in this world.
He also said peace be upon him. “Recite Surah al-Baqara, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it”. It came in the Sunnah that the Prophet peace be upon him hired a young man to be an imam on old companions because he preserves Surat Al-Baqarah. What indicates that it is a great Surah is the presence of the greatest verse in the Quran “verse of Al-koursy” as we said. The Prophet said that too, and he also said who recites “the verse of Al-koursy” when he is about to sleep, devil will not harm him, and there is a keeper of Allah until he wakes up.
And not to forget one more thing that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said Ibn ‘Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
While Jibril (Gabriel) was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he heard a sound above him. He lifted his head, and said: “This is a gate which has been opened in heaven today. It was never opened before.” Then an angel descended through it, he said: “This is an angel who has come down to earth. He never came down before.” He sent greetings and said: “Rejoice with two lights given to you. Such lights were not given to any Prophet before you. These (lights) are: Fatiha-til-Kitab (Surat Al-Fatiha), and the concluding Ayat of Surat Al-Baqarah. You will never recite a word from them without being given the blessings it contains. And also said; I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “He who recites the two Ayat at the end of Surat Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him.”
